Health Promotion
This practice aims to help more patients stop smoking, to become more physically active, to eat healthily and drink alcohol within sensible limits. We are committed to lifestyle interventions for the
prevention of heart disease and strokes, and we hope that you will accept our screening of patients as an extension of our continuing care.
Stay Healthy
1) Don't smoke. If you need help to give up, call the NHS Smoking Helpline on 0800 1690169.
2) Eat a balanced diet, and aim for at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day.
3) Aim to be physically active for a total of half an hour a day, five days a week.
4) If you drink alcohol, do not drink too much.
5) If you are over 65, you should ask for a free flu jab each autumn.
6) Take up cancer screening opportunities
7) COUGHS & SNEEZES SPREAD DISEASES - use a tissue, throw it away after use and WASH YOUR HANDS.
NHS Direct
This is a confidential 24-hour telephone helpline. By calling 0845 4647 you can speak to a nurse for advice at any time of the day or night wherever you are in England.
As well as responding to information queries, NHS Direct can also help you if you feel unwell and are unsure what to do. You can call the service if you feel ill and speak to a nurse about what you should
do for the best. You may be able to deal with the problem at home, with advice from the nurse, or the nurse may advise you to call the doctor or might even connect you to the emergency services if your case is very
serious.

Certain services provided by your doctor are not covered by the NHS and you may be asked to pay a fee as recommended by the British Medical Association. These include:
