New Patients
New patients will be registered with the practice, not an individual GP; however, patients have a right to express a preference to receive services from a particular
practitioner. All patients registering will be asked to produce two forms of proof of identification.
All newly registered patients will be invited for a health check. The practice considers that this is a necessary part of the registration process.
New Patient Checks
All newly registered patients will be invited for a health check. The practice considers that this is a necessary part of the registration process. These are done at times convenient to patients during the week.
Other Health Checks
Any patient between the ages of 16 and 74 who has not attended a consultation/clinic provided by the practice in the last three years can request a consultation at which the practice will make appropriate
examinations.
Patients over 75 who have not participated in a consultation in the last 12 months can also request such a consultation. This can take place in the patient's home if, in the reasonable opinion of the
practice, it would be inappropriate for the patient to attend practice premises.
Blood Tests
Thehealth centre provides a clinic for blood tests on four mornings each week. Please telephone 9246 6221 for an appointment.
Podiatry
Podiatry is also available within the health centre. Please telephone 9246 6221 for details.
Smoking Cessation
The practice provides help for patients to give up smoking. We have two qualified nurses who can give advice and support to help you through the programme.
Holiday Vaccinations
Advice and all holiday vaccinations are available from the practice nurses. We are an approved centre for yellow fever vaccinations and can provide any vaccination required for your destination(s).
Influenza Vaccine
This is available in October and November each year. If you are over 65, or have asthma, diabetes or heart problems, you should have this free protection.
Cervical Smear Tests
It is recommended that women aged 25-49 are screened three-yearly and those between 50-65 five-yearly. These tests may be done by one of our three specially trained nurses. There is a specific clinic for smear tests on Thursday mornings. However, we do appreciate that work commitments may not be flexible and we are able to make allowances for this.
